The song that I will be playing is Payphone by Maroon 5. I chose this song because it was one that’s easier to play and it’s by my favorite artist. This song is about a lost relationship where the girl is keeping him afar while he was giving all his love to her; all the things that connected them together are falling down, and that all good things eventually come to an end. This song has a really strong rhythm, and that’s what I want to capture. The rhythm is what makes the song catchy and different, which also makes it a challenge. Before my performance, I’ll listen to the song over and over again so that I know exactly how the rhythm is supposed to sound like. To make it sound as close to the original sound as possible, I can go on Youtube and listen to some acoustic covers, or just ask Mr. Salisbury :) Personally, I feel the most support when people give me constructive criticism, so I hope that after my performance, I will be able to recognize what I did well and what I need to work on for next time.
